The first of three events in May in different New Zealand cities to launch FAMNZ (Finance and Mortgage Advisers Association of New Zealand) was held at Tommy’s Champagne Parlour, near Britomart. Freestyle Event Photography took the photos at this well-attended launch party, which enabled professionals from the industry to network and for the newly established FAMNZ to present itself and its goals.
We made sure to take photos of the FAMNZ branding, the live entertainment, the food, and the speeches, given by Peter White (managing director) and sponsors. We provided a selection of edited images to the client before the following morning for them to post on social media.
We captured a range of informal interactions amongst the attendees, with a mixture of posed and candid shots, showing a variety of moods, from thoughtful conversations to amusing exchanges. Our photos included some larger scenes, which gives a feel for the energy in the room.
The photographic challenges for this shoot were mostly due to the lighting in the space, but also the ever-present concern to make sure the microphone does not obscure the speaker’s face. During speeches, we also like to capture different expressions on the speakers’ faces and their gestures.
