Freestyle Event Photography (“Freestyle”) normally charges a $100 deposit to confirm a booking for a photoshoot (“shoot”) of a scheduled event. This deposit is non-refundable except as outlined below. The cost of the deposit is deducted from the cost of the shoot when it is invoiced.
Postponements
Forty-eight hours’ notice is requested for all postponements.
If an event that had been scheduled is postponed (whether or not a new date is specified immediately), and 48 hours’ notice of the postponement is given, the deposit will be retained and its cost deducted from the cost of the shoot when it is invoiced.
However, if an event is postponed and Freestyle is not available for the new date (but would have been available for the original date), the deposit will be refunded in full.
If an event is postponed and less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the deposit will not be refunded. A new deposit will be requested to confirm the booking for the new date of the event. Only the cost of the new deposit will be deducted from the cost of the shoot when it is invoiced.
Cancellations
Forty-eight hours’ notice is requested for all cancellations.
If an event (including one that has previously been postponed) is cancelled, the deposit will not be refunded, regardless of how much notice is given, except as outlined in the section Cancellations due to COVID-19, below.
Cancellations due to COVID-19
If an event that was scheduled is no longer able to take place due to COVID-19-related restrictions, and is cancelled (rather than postponed), a refund of 50% of the deposit (that is, $50 for a $100 deposit) will be given. If this event is later scheduled for a new date after this refund has been paid, a new deposit of $100 will be charged. Only the cost of the new deposit will be deducted from the cost of the shoot when it is invoiced.
Other Refunds
In the unlikely event that Freestyle is no longer able to attend an event on the date scheduled (e.g., due to illness of our staff), but the event is still able to go ahead, and a deposit has been paid for this shoot, then this deposit will be refunded in full.
Freestyle will meet its obligations as a service provider under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
